Guitar Capo Helper

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Guitar Capo Helper (dev.nicholaslie.capohelper) is an Android app by Nicholas Lie.

The app itself collects nothing about you and has no accounts or servers. Your songs stay on your phone. If ads are shown, Google's ad SDK collects some data as described below.

Data stored on your device

Microphone

The optional Listen for the key feature uses the microphone only while that screen is open. Audio is analysed in memory on your device to estimate the musical key; it is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. You can deny or revoke the permission at any time in Android settings.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Unless you buy Remove ads, the app shows banner ads from Google AdMob. Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process data such as your device's advertising ID, IP address (and approximate location derived from it), interactions with ads and diagnostic information, for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice later under Settings → Privacy options.

See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.

Purchases (Google Play)

The one-time Remove ads purchase is processed by Google Play. The developer never sees or stores your payment details; the app only receives confirmation from Google Play that the purchase belongs to your Google account.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes
